Plain-language summary

  • We collect what the service needs to run: your email, your quiz answers, and your learning progress.
  • We don't sell your data and we don't share it with advertisers.
  • Quiz answers you give before signing up stay in your browser until you create an account.
  • You can access, correct, export, or delete your data — email us and a human handles it.

The summary is there to help you scan; the full document below is the operative version.

1. What we collect and why

  • Account details. When you sign up: your email address, and either a password (stored only as a hash by our authentication provider) or the basic profile your Google sign-in provides. Needed to run your account and keep your progress attached to it.
  • Quiz answers.The onboarding quiz asks about your goals to shape a learning plan. Before you have an account, those answers stay in your own browser's storage; they're saved to your profile only if you create an account.
  • Learning activity. Lessons completed, practice answers, streaks, and certificates earned. Needed to show your progress, unlock the next lesson, and issue certificates.
  • Support messages. If you contact us, we keep the conversation so we can actually help and so a refund or dispute has a paper trail.

2. What we don't do

  • We don't sell your personal data. Full stop.
  • We don't share your data with advertisers.
  • We don't read your lesson work to build an advertising profile.

3. Cookies and browser storage

We use a small number of functional cookies and browser-storage items, and no advertising trackers:

  • an authentication session cookie (httpOnly — JavaScript can't read it) that keeps you signed in;
  • your theme preference (light/dark) and, before signup, your quiz answers — both in your browser's local storage.

4. Who processes data for us

We use a small set of service providers to run the platform, each under its own data-processing terms:

  • Supabase — database and authentication (where your account, profile, and progress live);
  • a payment processor — when paid billing launches, checkout is handled by a payment processor that receives your payment details directly. We never see or store your full card number. The processor will be named here when billing goes live.

5. Retention

Account and progress data is kept while your account exists — it's what lets you pick up where you left off, and it's why an earned certificate keeps verifying even after you cancel a subscription. Support conversations are kept as long as they're needed to resolve the issue and honor refund commitments.

6. Your choices: access, export, delete

You can request a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete your account and personal data. Email hello@flossandpixel.comand a human handles it — we'll confirm identity before changing or deleting anything. Deleting your account removes your profile and progress; certificates you already shared stop verifying under your name.

7. Children

Course Platform is for adults building work skills. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect children's data.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with an updated date. For material changes to how we handle your data, we'll notify account holders by email in advance.

Course Platform is operated by Floss and Pixel (entity TBC by counsel). Questions about this document: hello@flossandpixel.com.
